We are taught to be proud of ourselves in our accomplishments, then taught that God say's not be be prideful. Wait, What!!! When we achieve our goals, get the position on the team, etc. What if you have worked hard to be a "Christ like" person, not comforming to the world around you in the hallways of school. Should you not be proud of your self? I'm proud of you! It is okay to be proud of yourself if you lift the glory to God. If you understand that Pride will so easily take root in your heart and your eyes and thoughts off of Jesus. You will begin to look and think that you are the one that gets things done. Remember, it is God that created you and through Him, your talent, confidence, creativity, courage, strength, etc. We could never be worthy to stand before God without Jesus. God is Just and Righteous, we get to walk in His righteousness because of our redeemer, the Christ Jesus. It is through Jesus we were created and through Him we excell at the thing we stive for. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" , Philippians 4:13.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made! Psalm 139"14

You were created to do amazing things in Gods will. Be proud of who your are in Him, know that pride outside of that is a wrecking ball to your life.

Prayer starter:   Father, thank you for loving me today. Help me see that You are my pride and in you I am the best me I can be. Lord I ask you to take my eyes off of me and help me keep them on you today. Help me shine your light through me in everything i do. Father help me understand pride today in your understanding not my own. I love you and ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen

Scriptures: 1 John 4:9

This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. - 1 John 4:9

We will inevitably suffer with disappointment in ourselves. We will feel that we have not performed as expected. We did not get an "A" on our tests, we fell short of our goals, we lost our tempers, and now we are disappointed with ourselves, and we are sure that God is disappointed too. The truth that we can be grateful for is that God already knew that we wouldn't perform as expected when He chose to love us. And it is His love that is the basis for our relationship with Him, not our works. When our relationship with God is a solid foundation in our lives, we will be free to do the best we can, and not get stressed out about our imperfections. It's time to get off the treadmill and run in the freedom of His grace.

Prayer Starter: I thank You, Father, that You are not disappointed with me. You knew what You were getting when You chose me. Thank You for choosing me anyway and for loving me perfectly in the midst of my imperfections. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
