One Awkward Moment - Casting Crowns

Friday, May 31, 2019 • Todd Cantrell
A beautiful song by Casting Crowns that explains how WE can be the hands and feet of Jesus. BE THE LIGHT!

Young Templars, this song reminds us how WE are the hands and feet of Jesus. WE are the SALT and LIGHT!

Have you ever heard the phrase, "You may be the only Bible people ever read?" What this means is that many may never step foot in a church, or get a chance to attend a bible study. For them, your actions, attitudes, and words may be the only gospel they ever see or hear.

Listen to the song and share your thoughts below on how this song resonates with your soul.

That song reminds me of when I was left behind by my dad as a 10 year old. My parents just recently got divorced and my dad came by to pick us up for visitation. But I was mad at him so I never went outside to his car. I was standing in the living room window watching him load up my brothers and sisters, hoping he would look around for me and ask where I was. He never did. They just drove away.
This song reminds me that in these awkward painful moments God has my back. We all can turn to Him. We as humans can't hold all the pain but we can offer it up to God. Who has infinite capacity for our suffering.
God carry this burden, my legs are week and my soul is tired. God I need you. God I love you and I do all I can for you. Amen

I hope I have many awkward moments!

Because you're standing right here and you're here for a reason! An awesome perspective I never thought about to share Jesus' love. What a great song to help all of us share our scars so we can help others struggling with the same. I hope I have many awkward moments that lead to sharing God's love and hopefully bringing others to Jesus!

We are living epistles that bring the gospel to life!

It is so clear that Mark Hall (casting crowns) has been walking with teens for so long. As a pastor of teens myself, I so intimately understand their life struggles and the awkwardness they feel sharing Jesus in todays world. The first time I listened, I just cried... All the memories of so many teens that I have walked with over the years with so much hurt in their life, even the ones that seem to have it all together from looking in. As I listened more times, I began to think about those they stepped out in to speak of how Jesus helped them through their struggle. I think of how much they grew in their own relationship with Jesus as they continued to step into those opportunities to help someone know the God that helped them. That awkwardness got to be their normal and soon was not awkward at all!
Remember, we are living epistles. Your story has just started! Though you may have life wounds and battle scars, the are just training that will lead you to understanding. If you let Jesus take control, they will build character and grow faith. Todays struggles are just the beginning of your young story, what will your story contain when you are 30 years old and beyond? Its your decision. I suggest you fully give your life to God and let Him write your story.
Finally, if we say we care that someone is hurting, then be brave and step into that one awkward moment! One word, one song, one Jesus Loves You, might bring Him to life in their heart and give them peace in the storm.
